Scientific Program

The different TP Section Symposia will be organized around the main subject of traditional healers, their practices, efficacy, diagnostic skills, and the relevant links with the work of transcultural psychiatrists from around the world.

The symposium program comprises plenary sessions, symposia, and posters.  The Scientific Committee will select all abstracts and proposals by the end of March 2005.  Five overarching themes have been proposed.

Knowledge and Clinical Skills of Traditional Healers (Asia, America, Europe, Africa, Oceania)

Exploring the Bridges Between Psychiatrists and Traditional Healers
