Tokor mamahar has various medicinal uses for the Tongva.  They use the leaves and stems to make a wash for several purposes. This wash relieves toothaches and is an excellent eyewash. 

The Tongva use the limbs and branches of tokor mamahar in the construction of houses and small family sweathouses. Additionally, the stems are used to make arrows.
