Oar is a highly toxic plant.
Nevertheless, the Tongva use the sap to cure warts and ringworms.
They also boil the roots and use the decoction as an eyewash. The antidotes to
rashes from oar include sobochesh (manzanita), milkweed, and soaplant.
The leaves are made into a wash and applied to the affected area.
